Box Score NEWBERRY, S.C. (Oct. 15, 2016) – Two second-half goals in less than two minutes led Newberry to a 2-1 comeback win over the Sewanee field hockey team, Saturday.
The loss is the Tigers' fourth this season by a single goal.
Sewanee scored early in the second half as Hannah Tompkins pushed in a loose ball in just in front of the cage.
Unfortunately, Kristyna Oyola responded in a big way for Newberry. With 63:30 off the clock, Oyola scored off a Kayla Cooke pass. Two minutes later, Oyola netted the game winner off another assist, this time from Brady Keeler.
Newberry dominated possession with a 16-2 advantage in shots. The home team also led in corners 19-1.
Sewanee is scheduled to close out its regular season with a 1:00 p.m. match against Transylvania in two weeks.
