Box Score SEWANEE, Tenn. (March 27, 2015) – The Sewanee men's lacrosse team defeated Southern Athletic Association (SAA) foe Millsaps 21-3 at historic Hardee-McGee Field at Harris Stadium, Friday.
The Tigers improved to 6-2 overall and 2-0 in SAA action.
With snow flurries falling to start the first, Sewanee scored six goals in the opening 15 minutes. The Tigers then added five goals in the second, six in the third, and four in the fourth.
Overall, Sewanee fired 54 shots and grabbed 31 groundballs.
Individually, freshman Robbie Berndt led the offense with four goals. Matthew Stiefel also played well with three goals and two assists. Along with the Tigers' two top attackmen Wil Friedman, Jack Harris, Tyler Calnan, and Nick Patterson added two goals. Additionally Cotter Brown, Jimmy Parker, David Kasten, Hayden Byrd, Charles Richardson, George Bukawyn also scored.
In goal, junior Browning Altizer earned the win with nine saves.
Sewanee returns to SAA action with a noon match Sunday against Birmingham-Southern.
