Box Score

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (Sept. 6, 2014) – Despite another outstanding effort, the Sewanee field hockey team lost a 4-2 contest against Washington & Lee, Saturday, in Memphis, Tenn.

Sewanee opened the scoring as Kat Mulligan scored in the first minute of action off an assist from classmate Carrie Anderson.

Unfortunately, W&L stormed back with three straight goals.

Sewanee added one more score right before halftime, when Sarah Berry found the back of the cage off a pass from Anderson.

In the second half, the Generals added an insurance goal when Candice Stefanic scored.

Sewanee finished with 13 shots while W&L added 19. Sewanee did lead in corners by six, 10-4.

The Tigers will play their first home match of the season next Friday against Ferrum. That contest is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. at Puett Field.
