Second-half goal lifts Ozarks (Ark.) past Sewanee

SEWANEE, Tenn. (Sept. 7, 2013) – A second-half goal by Matt Weaver lifted Ozarks (Ark.) past the Sewanee men's soccer team, Saturday, at Puett Field.

Making their home debut, the Tigers could not break through on the opening day of the Kyle Rote Jr. Invitational. Sewanee and Ozarks both finished with 12 shots.

Individually, junior Ford Emerson led the attack with five shots. Additionally, Weston Stitt finished with a season-high three attempts, including two shots on goal.

Finally, Griffin Smith added two shots.

Defensively, sophomore keeper Jacob Zalewski played well despite giving up the lone goal. In 78 minutes of action, Zalewski made seven saves.

The Tigers will now take on St. Olaf with a 12:30 p.m. match, Sunday.
