Box Score SWEET BRIAR, Va. (Sept. 14, 2012) – Led by a strong offense, the Sewanee field hockey team blew out Sweet Briar 10-0 Friday afternoon. With the win, Sewanee improved to 3-1 this season.
The Tigers scored quickly as Anne Booke found the back of the cage with only two minutes gone.
Later in the half, Sewanee added goals by Molly Kennedy, Austen Zoutewelle, Warren Davis, and two more by Booke.
Up 6-0 to start the second half, the Tigers' offense continued to roll. Tilden Davis and Janie Spilman added to the Sewanee advantage with consecutive goals. Minutes later, Kennedy capped off the scoring with two additional goals.
In total, Sewanee took a season-high 41 shots and 16 penalty corners. Sweet Briar finished with five attempts, with three being on-goal.
The Tigers continue their three-match road trip at Roanoke, Saturday. That match is scheduled to start at noon (EST).
