Box Score SEWANEE, Tenn. (Aug. 31, 2012) – The Sewanee field hockey team opened its 2012 season Friday, with an impressive 2-1 win over visiting Washington & Lee.
After the Generals scored first, the Tigers responded with two quick goals. Cameron Herndon and Anne Booke tapped home both scores for Sewanee.
With a 2-1 lead at the half, Sewanee's defense stayed strong against W&L. Despite being outshot 11-5 in the second half, goalkeeper Anna Morrow stopped every attempt that was thrown at her.
The Tigers return to action Sunday, with an 11:00 a.m., match against Transylvania.
