SEWANEE, Tenn. (Oct. 3, 2012)
– The Sewanee men's and
women's cross country teams will host their annual Tiger
Twilight Invitational, Friday, on The University of the South
campus.
Along with the Tigers, teams participating in the event include
Southern Athletic Association (SAA) members Berry College,
Birmingham-Southern, and Oglethorpe.
The women's race will kick things off at 4 p.m., while the
men's event starts at 4:45 p.m.
After racing on the Sewanee golf course since 1990, this
year's Invitational will start from the football practice
field due to the on-going golf course renovation project.
Both the women's 5k and men's 7.2k races will begin
at the practice field and then loop around Lake Cheston.
Eventually, all participants will end up back around the practice
field area for the finish.
Overall, Sewanee has had some outstanding times and finishes at
its first three events this season. Currently, the women's
team is ranked 10th regionally by the USTFCCA.
