Maggie Burton is in her third year with the athletic training team as an assistant athletic trainer.
For the Tigers, her main responsibilities are assisting with football, volleyball, field hockey, men’s basketball, and women’s lacrosse.
In 2019-20, Burton adds a secondary responsibility working in the Athletic Communications department as an assistant.
Originally from Shelbyville, Tenn., Burton is a member of the Tennessee Athletic Trainer’s Society (TATS), the Southeast Athletic Trainers Association (SEATA), National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) and Marching Music Health and Wellness Project. She is a NATABOC certified athletic trainer and a licensed athletic trainer in the state of Tennessee.
In addition to her work on the Domain, she is also the head athletic trainer for the Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps during the summer months.
Burton graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in May 2017 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training. She is currently pursuing her Master of Arts degree in Exercise Science, Physical Education and Wellness with a concentration in Sports Management from Tennessee Tech University.
She currently resides in Winchester with her two cats, Raider and Tiger.
