Jeff Heitzenrater is the head coach for the University of the South men's and women's cross country and men's and women's track and field teams.
Heitzenrater is in his 18th as head women's cross country coach and his 19th as head men's coach. With the track and field programs, he is in his 20th season with the men and 18th with the women.
He is in his 27th year with the University of the South, spending his first seven years in the Office of Admission.
A 1990 graduate of Duke University, Heitzenrater was a 400 and 800 meter runner for the Blue Devils track team under Hall of Fame coach Al Buehler. He holds a USA Track & Field Level 2 Certification in Endurance Events and Jumps and is a member of the U.S. Track & Field Coaches Association.
Heitzenrater also received a Masters in Sport Administration from Belmont University in 2009. In the summers, he works as the camp director for the Sewanee All-Sports Camp.
He and his wife, Kim, C'89, live in Sewanee with their sons, Andrew, C'19, and Larson.
