Volleyball falls at Hendrix in SAA quarterfinals

CONWAY, Ark. (Nov. 4, 2016)  The Sewanee volleyball team closed out its 2016 season with a 3-0 Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Tournament quarterfinal loss at Hendrix, Friday, inside Grove Gymnasium.

The host Warriors earned set wins at 25-13, 25-11, and 25-18.  Overall, Hendrix hit .352 while limiting Sewanee to a .009 attack.

MC Rogers, who finished with 14 kills and a .350 attack, led the Warriors. Junior Caroline Owens led the Tigers with 14 digs and three kills. Senior Diamond Stewart and Rebecca Rowan paced the offense with eight kills each.

Additionally, Anna Wilson and Constance Connolly led Sewanee's setters with seven assists each.

Overall, Sewanee finished 9-17 overall and 2-12 in SAA action. Friday also marked the final match for seniors Stewart, Kristy Gray, and libero Sara Jayne Sutton.
