MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - Sewanee track and field opened the 2018 outdoor season on Saturday with the Victor Ice Breaker Duals, hosted by Berry College.

WOMEN TOP PERFORMERS
-Karagan Day earned a personal best in the javelin, winning the event with a 36.28-meter throw.

-Tricia Murphy led the Tigers in the 1,500 meters with a 5:12.81 time, good for 12th out of 33 runners.

-Abigail Ehrman finished in a tie for sixth in the pole vault, clearing 2.47 meters.

MEN TOP PERFORMERS
-Calid Shorter sprinted 11.28 seconds in the 100 meter dash to lead Sewanee.

-In the 800 meters, Ash Midyett ran a 2:07.03, while Owen Legrone ran a 15:54.77 in the 5k run, good for 10th place.

UP NEXT
The Tigers will next travel to Birmingham, Ala. for the Birmingham-Southern invitational next weekend.
