SEWANEE, Tenn. - Head coach Jeff Heitzenrater and the Sewanee track and field staff have announced the 2018 schedule, which will include three home meets and hosting the 2018 Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Championships.
The Tigers will compete in three indoor meets, two at home. The season will open on Saturday, Feb. 3 with the Tiger Indoor Invitational. The final indoor home meet will happen two weeks later, on Feb. 17 with the Sewanee Indoor Invitational.
In between the two home meets, the Purple and Gold will travel to the Birmingham CrossPlex for the BSC Indoor Invitational on Monday, Feb. 11, hosted by Birmingham-Southern.
The outdoor season begins in March, and the Tigers will be travelling to Berry twice, Birmingham-Southern and Emory.
The Tigers' first trip to Berry will be for the Victor Ice Breaker Duals on March 3.
The next week, on March 9, Sewanee makes the trek again to Birmingham, Ala. for the Birmingham-Southern Invitational.
Following two weeks off for Spring Break, the Tigers return to action at the Emory Invitational on Easter weekend, March 30 and 31.
The second of two trips to Mount Berry, Ga. will occur the next weekend, April 6 and 7, for the Berry Invitational.
The Purple and Gold will host the Mount Laurel Twilight Invitational on Friday, April 13 to conclude the regular season.
The Tigers will have the opportunity to host the 2018 SAA Championships, which will occur on April 20 and 21. More information will come at a later date.
