Davila falls just short in a long match against Aboubakare in the NCAA Singles Championship

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (May 25, 2017) – Despite fighting hard in the longest singles match in the 2017 NCAA Singles Championship, Sewanee women's tennis student-athlete Clementina Davila fell just short of another All-American honor with a Round of 32 loss at the Champions Club.

In a defensive contest, Davila loss twice in two straight tiebreakers falling to Kenyon's Diana Aboubakare 7-6, 7-6 

Davila, who was a 2016 All-American in doubles with former Tiger great Lindsey Liles, was named the ITA Atlantic South Player to Watch this spring.

Davila finished the season nationally ranked and was again an All-SAA First-Team selection.
