SEWANEE, Tenn. (May 8, 2017) – The No. 17 ranked Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Regular Season and Tournament Champion Sewanee women's tennis team was named one of only eight NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Regional host, Monday.
The Tigers will welcome No. 3 Emory, No. 13 Washington & Lee, Methodist, and Rose-Hulman to the campus of the University of the South. The NCAA Sewanee Regional will be played at the Bruton-Guerry Tennis Center from Friday, May 12 - Sunday, May 14.
Methodist and Rose-Hulman are scheduled to play at 10:00 a.m., Friday. Sewanee will open play with a 10:00 a.m., match Saturday against W&L.
The winner of the Rose-Hulman and Methodist contest will take on Emory at 12:00 p.m., Saturday. The championship match is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Sunday.
Sewanee enters the postseason with a 19-5 overall record. The past three seasons, Sewanee has opened the NCAA Tournament with a win.
