Goodhue and Schober sweep weekly SAA Tennis awards

ATLANTA (March 26, 2014) – Sewanee tennis student-athletes Bronte Goodhue and Avery Schober have been named the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Men's and Women's Tennis Athletes of the Week the league announced, Wednesday.

Goodhue helped the No. 15 Tigers cruise to a 9-0 victory over No. 7 Atlantic South ranked Salisbury to conclude the last leg of their spring break trip. The reigning SAA Player of the Year finished a perfect 5-0 in singles over spring break and 5-1 in doubles. At the No. 1 positions, Goodhue's record now stands at 10-1 in singles and 10-1 in doubles. 

Schober defeated nationally ranked No. 17 Alex Johnston of No. 10 Middlebury College at No. 1 singles and also won at No. 3 doubles. During the week, Schober had victories at No. 1 singles against regionally -ranked Daniel Albers of Salisbury, and Brian Tan of Tufts. Schober also won against Lucas Lee of NAIA member Biola.
