Women’s Soccer Falters to No. 8/12 Centre in Regular Season Finale

SEWANEE, Tenn. - The Sewanee women's soccer team were defeated by the Colonels of Centre College, 5-0, Saturday afternoon from Puett Field.

CLASS OF 2019!
-Prior to the match, Sewanee recognized its three seniors for Senior Day: Erin Gill, Dayla LaRocque and Savannah Williams.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The visitors netted the first goal of the contest in the third minute off a corner kick.

-In the 11th minute, the Colonels made it a 2-0 contest with an Alana Hughes goal.

-Centre used three goals in almost a seven-minute span in the second half to finish conference play undefeated.

SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Sam Morgan took two of Sewanee's five shots.

-Hanna Judycki (4-8-2) saved six shots in full time.

CENTRE KEY STATISTICS
-Cameron Zak recorded two goals on three total shots.

-Sarah Stodghill (15-0) saved two shots to earn the clean sheet.

UP NEXT
With the regular season in the books, the Tigers will turn their attention to the Southern Athletic Association Tournament. Sewanee will travel to four-seed Hendrix for a rematch on Saturday, Oct. 27, in the quarterfinal round. Kickoff time has yet to be determined.
