Women’s Soccer Draws with Spalding

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Despite battling the rain showers in the Louisville-area on Sunday, Sewanee and Spalding played 110 minutes of soccer, but the contest would end in a 1-1 draw between the two schools Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-It didn't take long for the first goal to score, as Bailey Whitehead passed Hanna Judycki to score in the net in the fourth minute.

-The Golden Eagles, despite allowing 11 shots to the Tigers, allowed the game-tying goal in the 77th minute. Kiera Giacomini found Paige Rupp's pass for the score.

-At the end of regulation, each team's defense stood tall, and with the help of Judycki's two saves in the first overtime period, nobody could connect the golden goal.

SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Kiera Giacomini, Caitlin Fahr, Mena Kerrison and Dayla LaRocque each took two shots for the visitors.

-Giacomini and Paige Rupp provided the offense with the goal and assist, respectively.

-Hanna Judycki (0-2-2) saved five shots in 110 minutes at the net.

SPALDING KEY STATISTICS
-Kelsie Huffman led the Golden Eagles with three shots, two on goal.

-Bailey Whitehead netted the lone goal for Spalding, while Meghan Ogden contributed the assist.
