Tigers Finish as a Semifinalist in SAA Tournament

DANVILLE, Ky. - The 2017 women's soccer team came to a close on Friday, as the Tigers were downed by top-ranked Centre, 4-0, in the semifinals Friday night.

Centre (14-3-2) advances to the final for the sixth consecutive season on goals in the 45th, 56th, 84th and 90th minutes.

Sewanee almost held the Colonels scoreless for a full 45 minutes in the first half before Centre scored with 17 seconds left in the half.

Savannah Williams (4-4-1) saved three shots in 65:14 in goal; Doris Ellis saved two shots in the final 24:46.

The Tigers finish 6-9-2 in the 2017 season. Head coach Patrick Johnston concludes his ninth season on the Domain. Taking his team to five straight SAA semifinal appearances, he now has a career 85-63-13 record.
