Women’s Lacrosse Finishes February with 5-0 Record

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The Sewanee women's lacrosse team recorded a 15-3 win over the University of Wisconsin at River Falls Sunday afternoon inside Edor Nelson Field on the campus of Augsburg.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Tigers, by the midway mark in the first half, led 6-0 thanks to two goals by Sarah Strand.

-After River Falls scored two goals in a 1:24 span to break the shutout, the Tigers finished the half with six more goals to lead 12-2 at the break.

SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Sarah Strand posted a hat trick with three goals.

-Grace Zechman finished with seven points thanks to six assists.

-Amanda Jenkins (2-0), Brianna Young, Caroline Roncalli and Molly Morris allowed just eight shots.

UW-RIVER FALLS KEY STATISTICS
-Gina Jablonski recorded a hat trick by the Falcons, who played their first intercollegiate women's lacrosse game.

-Ashley Olson (0-1) saved 13 shots in between the pipes.

UP NEXT
After spending the month of February on the road, the Tigers will spend the month of March at Puett Field, as they begin an 11-game homestand with Piedmont on Friday.
