ATLANTA - The Sewanee women's lacrosse team opened the 2019 season Saturday with a 19-0 shutout of Oglethorpe.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Sewanee started the game with a 6-0 lead in the first 6:11 of the contest.

-Scoring two goals with a man down due to penalties, the Tigers led 13-0 at the break.

SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Catherine Crigler, Brooke Winfield, Hadley Meadows, Anna Comer and Grace Zechman each scored two goals for the Tigers.

-Grace Fulton won three draw controls, while Hattie Fogarty forced four turnovers.

-The trio of Brianna Young (1-0), Caroline Roncalli and Amanda Jenkins limited the Stormy Petrels offense to five shots.

-Sewanee, as a team posted a 13-of-16 day in clear attempts.

OGLETHORPE KEY STATISTICS
-Jalina Rodriguez forced two turnovers for OU.

UP NEXT
Sewanee will next play a day-night doubleheader in two different cities. The Tigers will travel to Birmingham to face the Panthers of Birmingham-Southern Sunday afternoon before wrapping up the day in Montgomery against Huntingdon.
