Women’s Lax Cruises to 21-5 Victory over Adrian in Sunday Matinee

SEWANEE, Tenn. - Sewanee women's lacrosse saw 16 different student-athletes recorded a point in Sunday's 21-5 win over Adrian Sunday afternoon from Puett Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Sewanee outscored the visitors from Michigan 12-4 in the opening half, including a 6-1 in about a 15 minute span.

-After Adrian made it 9-3 with 7:29 left in the period, Sewanee netted the final three goals of the opening half.

-With 26:09 left in the second half, the Bulldogs dropped the deficit to 14-5, but the Tigers netted the final seven goals in the contest en route to a 9-of-9 performance in the final 30 minutes.

SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Preston Cooper led the offense with four goals and one assist on 4-of-4 shooting for the Tigers.

-Grace Zechman totaled three goals on the day, while Grace Fulton scooped up 10 of Sewanee's 29 groundballs.

-As a team, the Purple and Gold shot 21-of-32 on the day, including a perfect 9-of-9 in the final 30 minutes.

-Amanda Jenkins (2-0) saved four shots in 20 minutes in the cage.

ADRIAN KEY STATISTICS
-Alex Branum netted a hat trick to lead the Bulldogs.

-Hannah Emerson (0-1) collected seven saves for Adrian in goal.

UP NEXT
The Tigers return to the road scene next weekend with a Southern Athletic Association matchup with Oglethorpe on Saturday before concluding the weekend with a trip to Piedmont on next Sunday.
