ATLANTA (April 3, 2017) - Sewanee women's lacrosse student-athlete Brianna Young has been named the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Defensive Player of the Week the league announced, Monday.
Young continued to play as one of the top goalkeepers in the nation this week. Young went 1-1 with a 65.1 save percentage. She allowed only 7.50 goals per game and made 28 saves.
First, against DePauw, Young finished with 14 saves and 60.9 save percentage. Then against Centre, Sunday, Young posted 14 saves and stopped 70 percent of the Colonels' shots.
Young now leads all NCAA Division III women's lacrosse players with a 64.7 save percentage.
