Women’s lacrosse stays unbeaten with 15-5 win at Hendrix

CONWAY, Ark. (March 4, 2017) – The Sewanee women's lacrosse team stayed unbeaten this season with a 15-5 win at Hendrix, Saturday.

The Tigers are now 4-0 in 2017 and have outscored their opponents 58-18. On Saturday, Sewanee got rolling early. The Tigers scored the first six goals before Hendrix finally found the back of the net. During that stretch, Sydney Beldock, Kit Sommi, Bridget McConville, and Alden Woolford all scored.

After the Hendrix goal, Molly Elkins and Phoebe Stirm pushed the Tigers in front, 7-1.

Eventually, Farrell Guest, Meredith Sackett, Brooke Winfield, Preston Cooper, and Cait Kaffl all scored in the second half.

Overall, Sewanee dominated the stats with 13 draws, 19 clears on 20 attempts, 27 groundballs, and 25 shots.

Individually, Guest led the offense with three goals, while Cooper and Beldock each had two. On defense, Sommi, Guest, Anna Comer, Beldock, and Molly Elkins all caused multiple turnovers.

Sewanee returns to action with a 5:00 p.m. match against Meredith, Monday.
