HOUSTON (May 12, 2017) – In only its second appearance in the NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championship, the No. 26 ranked Sewanee women's golf team finished 10th.
The Tigers finished with a team score of 1293 after their final round 334. Southern Athletic Association (SAA) rival and now back-to-back National Champion Rhodes won the team title with a 1217. The Lynx were two shots ahead of No. 1 ranked George Fox.
Individually, Christina Herbert of Bridgewater earned medalist honors with a five-over par 293.
Sophomore Meghan Symonds led Sewanee with a 314 after her final-round 82. Symonds finished tied for 29th. Twenty spots behind Symonds were classmate Natalie Javadi and freshman Mary Elizabeth Benton. Both players finished with a 329 total.
Sophomore Sarah Battye was close behind after her final-round 83. Battye finished with a 330 total for a tie for 54th.
Finally, Sophia Morrill finished tied for 58th after she finished with a 332 total.
