Women’s golf improves by six strokes during second round action of Jekyll Island Collegiate

JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. (March 18, 2017) – The Sewanee women's golf team improved by six strokes Saturday during second round action of the Jekyll Island Collegiate.

The Tigers are currently in ninth place with a team score of 646. After an opening-round 326, Sewanee fired a 320 on Saturday. New York University leads the field with a two-day 616. Rhodes is second at 625.

Individually, Nattcha (Patty) Treevichaphan of NYU leads the field with a 149.

Sarah Battye leads Sewanee with a 159 total. Battye fired rounds of 81 and 78 and sits in a tie for 24th. Teammate Meghan Symonds is currently tied for 26th after back-to-back 80s.

After an 82 on Friday, Sophia Morrill is tied for 42nd with a 36-hole 163 while Mary Elizabeth Benton is tied for 48th a stroke behind Morrill.

Finally, Natalie Javadi is tied for 57th after her second round 82. Javadi has a two-day 166 total.
