Women’s golf leads field at Huntingdon Intercollegiate; Javadi leads individually

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (Sept. 27, 2015) – Led by senior Emily Javadi and three student-athletes inside the top-10, the Sewanee women's golf team leads a talented field at the Huntingdon Intercollegiate, Sunday, at the Montgomery Country Club.

Javadi fired an opening-round 70 while as a team Sewanee leads the field by nine strokes with a team score of 310. Host Huntingdon sits second with a 319 while Methodist is third at 326.

Along with Javadi, freshman Sophia Morrill is also in the top-five (t-4th) with an opening-round 77. Fellow freshman Meghan Symonds is t-seventh with an opening-18 80.

Senior Alison Eleey is tied for 16th with an 83 while Mary Elizabeth Benton is tied for 39th after shooting an 88.

Playing as an individually, sophomore Brook Vann is t-27th with an 85 while Eva Jones is in 56th after a 98.
