SEWANEE, Tenn. - The Sewanee women's hoops squad were downed by Hendrix in a Southern Athletic Association (SAA) game on Sunday afternoon, 91-73, inside Juhan Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The two teams went back-and-forth in the first quarter, but thanks to a three-ball by Allison Hitchcock with three seconds left in the opening stanza, the Tigers led 20-19 at the end of the period.
-The second quarter would belong to the visitors, who shot 9-of-19 (47.4 percent) from the floor en route to a 28-13 quarter to lead 47-33 at the break.
-The Tigers were unable to fend off the Warriors on the glass, as the visitors out-rebounded Sewanee 54-32, including a 16-5 mark in the second quarter.
-The Tigers played even with the Warriors for the rest of the way, but they were unable to muster any rallies in the second half to shrink the deficit.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Bella Taylor led Sewanee with 24 points, seven rebounds and three assists. Five of her seven boards came on the offensive glass.
-Hannah McCormack is now 43 points away from 1,000 career points with 18 points and added nine boards.
-Allison Hitchcock dropped 14 points with three assists.
HENDRIX KEY STATISTICS
-Leah Smith led all scorers with 25 points off the bench, while Vinessa Daniel and Madison Martin scored 20 points each. Martin added 16 rebounds.
Sewanee hits the road again for a trip to Millsaps College Friday night. Tip is slated for 6 p.m.
