2019 Schedule

SEWANEE, Tenn. - Announced by head coach Merritt Yackey, the Sewanee softball team have released its 2019 schedule.

The Tigers will open the schedule with their first eight games away from the Domain. It begins with a doubleheader at Wesleyan (Ga.) on Feb. 9.

The next weekend, Sewanee will participate in the Piedmont Classic on Feb. 16-17. Over the two days, the Purple and Gold will play Piedmont (Ga.), Covenant (Ga.), Averett (Va.) and Emory & Henry (Va.).

The season-opening trip concludes Feb. 23 with a doubleheader at Agnes Scott (Ga.).

Following the quick trip to Decatur, the Tigers will start a seven-game homestand. Sewanee's home opener will be a doubleheader with Blackburn (Ill.) on Feb. 24 at the Tiger Softball Field.

Sewanee will next play a twinbill with Covenant on Feb. 27 before opening Southern Athletic Association play against defending SAA Tournament Champion Berry March 2-3.

The next 17 games for the softball team will be away from the Cumberland Plateau. The first two weekends of the road swing will be at Millsaps (March 9-10) and Centre (March 15-16).

Sewanee's annual spring break trip will see them at the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Below is the schedule:

Monday, March 18: vs. Cazenovia (N.Y.) and Principia (Ill.)
Tuesday, March 19: vs. Southern Vermont and St. Louis College of Pharmacy (Mo.)
Thursday, March 21: vs. Maine-Presque Isle (DH)
Friday, March 22: vs. Cazenovia and Kentucky Christian

After the weekend off, the Tigers will wrap up the season-long road trip with a three-game series at Hendrix as they resume SAA play March 30-31.

The final six games will be at the friendly confines of Tiger Softball Field, as the program hosts Rhodes (April 6-7) and Birmingham-Southern (April 19-20).

The 2019 SAA Championships will take place April 25-28 at Warner Park in Chattanooga. The event will be co-hosted by Birmingham-Southern and Centre.
