Softball Turns Attention to SAA Championships

SEWANEE, Tenn. - The Sewanee softball team is gearing up for the 2018 Southern Athletic Association Championships this weekend in Chattanooga. The Tigers will open the double-elimination bracket with Birmingham-Southern on Thursday at 2 p.m. ET / 1 p.m. CT.

UTILITY THREAT: Rachel Hoffman wrapped up the regular season with a .326 batting average with four doubles and 15 RBI. Of her 105 plate appearances, the Easton, Pa. native has only struck out 14 times.

DOUBLE TROUBLE: Jackie O'Reilly has been a threat on the offensive side of the ball, recording offensive splits of .333/.444/.678 with 10 doubles, seven home runs and 17 RBI. The Peachtree Corners, Ga. native also swiped six bases. In the circle, she has tallied four wins with 10 complete games and 53 punchouts.

PATIENCE AT THE PLATE: O'Reilly and Caroline Sweetin led the team in base on balls with 15 each. Thanks to their success of free passes, the on base percentage of .444 and .427, respectively.
