SEWANEE, Tenn. - Despite the freezing temperatures, foggy conditions and the precipitation that started as rain and moved to freezing rain to snow showers, the Sewanee softball team could not find an answer for the Majors of Millsaps College, falling 13-4 in game one of the series on Saturday from the Tiger Softball Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Majors scored runs in each inning but the third, outscoring the home team 10-2 in the final three innings.
-Millsaps added five runs in the fourth to make it 8-3 in favor of the visitors.
-Sewanee tallied single runs in the fourth and fifth innings. Jackie O'Reilly brought Watters home on a fielder's choice in the fourth, while Wagner helped bring Caroline Sweetin home on a base knock.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Charlsey Shirey tallied three of Sewanee's seven hits with an RBI.
-Amanda Watters went 2-for-3 on the day with two runs scored.
-Caroline Sweetin (0-8) suffered nine earned in six innings.
MILLSAPS KEY STATISTICS
-MK Bozeman went 3-for-4 on the day with two walks, an RBI and scoring four times.
-Jordan Lipari and Hailey Pearson each added three RBI each.
-Cassidy Denoon (6-7) allowed three earned on seven hits in a complete game for the Majors.
The series concludes on Sunday with a 10 a.m. doubleheader. Prior to the start, the Tigers will recognize Amanda Watters for senior day.
