Rhodes completes sweep of Sewanee

SEWANEE, Tenn. (March 25, 2017) –Southern Athletic Association (SAA) rival Rhodes completed a three-game sweep of the Sewanee softball team, Saturday, at Tiger Field.

The Lynx earned a 17-3 win in the final game of the series.

Rhodes scored five runs in the first, 10 in the second, and two in the third inning. Sewanee's offense was at its best early with three runs in the bottom of the first.

After Katie Roth and Rachel Hoffman both walked, Caroline Sweetin hit her second homerun in as many games with a three-run blast.

Sweetin finished the day 2-for-2 with a run scored and two RBI. Taylor Wagner was the other Tiger with a hit. Kirsten Samuels led Rhodes at the plate going 3-for-4 with three runs scored and three RBI.

Sewanee returns to action against Covenant, Wednesday.
