SEWANEE, Tenn. (March 4, 2017) – Despite a great effort, the Sewanee softball team dropped a doubleheader against No. 4 Berry, Saturday, at Tiger Field.
The nationally-ranked Vikings earned a 10-2 win in the opener and then took the second game 11-0.
In the opener, Berry scored four runs in first, one in the second, three in the fourth, and two in the fifth. The Tigers scored both of their runs in the bottom of the fifth. In the nightcap, Berry scored four in the first, two in the fourth, and five in the fifth.
On the day, Katie Roth finished with a hit and a run scored while Amanda Watters added a hit and RBI. Additionally, Sydney Leibfritz scored a run while Sarah-Kate Moon finished with a hit in the second game.
Overall, Berry finished with a combined 26 hits on the day.
Sewanee returns to action with a home doubleheader against Birmingham-Southern next Saturday.
