ROME, Ga. (Nov. 12, 2016) – Led by the Sewanee men's cross country team's best finish since 2005, the Tiger teams wrapped up their 2016 seasons with a pair of outstanding performances at the Southeast Regionals, Saturday, at Berry College.
The men's team finished fifth overall while the women's squad closed out their campaign in 15th. The Tigers finished with 144 points in the men's race. Christopher Newport won the event while Washington & Lee and Emory finished in the top-three. Rhodes was fourth, just in front of Sewanee, with 121 points.
In the women's event, Emory finished first while Rhodes was second. Christopher Newport, Washington & Lee, and Trinity (Texas) wrapped up the top-five.
Individually, Jackson Goodwin qualified for the NCAA Championships with a 12th place finish. Goodwin finished with a time of 25:58.43. He was joined in the top-35 by two other Tigers. Logan Stockton finished 26th with a time of 26:30.48 while Mark McAlister was 28th in 26:35.88.
Ash Midyett was just outside the top-35 in 36th place with a time of 26:45.64.
Finally, Elizabeth Haberstroh was 106th with a time of 25:33.72.
