Jannotta leads Sewanee at tough UTC PowerAde Invitational

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (Sept. 9, 2016)  Led by senior Katie Jannotta, the Sewanee cross country teams closed out their second meet of the season Friday at the UTC PowerAde Invitational. 

Competing against teams such as Alabama, UTC, MTSU, Austin Peay, Mercer, and Samford, the Tigers finished as the top non-Division I program in the meet.

For the second straight week, Jannotta led all runners for the purple and gold. The senior finished 32nd overall with a time of 12:39.97. Jannotta topped all NCAA Division III runners while Elizabeth Haberstroh finished 42nd overall (13:12.67), but third in Sewanee's division.

Additionally, sophomore Jackson Goodwin (16:07. 28) and senior Mark McAlister (16:09.81) led the men's team with 20 and 21st place finishes. Only unattached runner Gavin Hasty finished better in non-scholarship competitors.
