BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Sewanee track and field competed at the 'Southern Invitational over the weekend, hosted by Birmingham-Southern.

WOMEN TOP PERFORMERS
-Tricia Murphy finished 2:31.49 in the 800 meters, good for a 12th place finish in the 800 meters. In the 1,500 meters, the senior earned eighth place honors with a 5:09.01 clip. Both times are good for 13th in the South/Southeast region.
-Karagan Day cleared 9.79 meters in the triple jump for a 10th place mark.
-Isabel Smith accomplished 2.75 meters in the pole vault, and that mark is good for seventh in the region.
MEN TOP PERFORMERS
-In the 800 meters, Ash Midyett came across the finish line third with a 1:57.32 time. He is now second in the region in the event. In the 1,500 meters, he ran a 4:10.29 for a seventh place finish in the event. He is now eighth in the region in the 1,500.
-In the shot put, Elijah Brooks-Davis threw 12.43 meters for an eighth place finish in the event. In the South/Southeast region, the senior is now eighth in the category.
-In the 110 hurdles, Miles Martin ran the event in 18.73 seconds for 11th place.
-Calid Shorter earned a top-20 finish in the 200 meters, running a 23.27 time in the finals for 18th place.
Sewanee will next compete at Emory on March 30 and 31.
