Four Tigers named All-SAA

ATLANTA (May 4, 2017) – After winning its fifth straight Southern Athletic Association (SAA) regular season and tournament championships, the No. 22nd ranked Sewanee men's tennis team had four student-athletes named all-conference.

Sophomore Jack Gray and senior Avery Schober were named to the All-SAA First Team while Andres Carro was named an All-SAA Second Team selection. Additionally, freshman Jordan Brewer was selected as an All-SAA Honorable Mention honoree.

In his second season as a Tiger, Gray finished 13-2 in singles and 16-5 in doubles. Even more impressive, the former All-American and teammate Alejandro Becker finished with an 11-1 record in doubles. Currently, the Tiger team is ranked sixth regionally in doubles while Gray was named the SAA Tournament MVP.

Like Gray, the former All-American Schober was great in singles and doubles. Individually, Schober finished 14-3 while in doubles, the former SAA Player of the Year, finished 13-5. Currently, Schober is ranked fifth regionally in singles and 24th nationally.

In his first season, Carro finished 10-6 in singles and 15-3 in doubles while Brewer was 12-4 in singles and 15-3 in doubles.
