Men’s tennis sweeps Hendrix, 9-0

CONWAY, Ark. (April 5, 2014) – The Sewanee men's tennis team extended its Southern Athletic Association (SAA) winning streak to 14 straight matches, as the Tigers swept Hendrix 9-0, Saturday, at the Warrior Outdoor Tennis Courts.

With the win, Sewanee is now 7-5 overall and a perfect 4-0 in conference play.

After dominating doubles, freshman Avery Schober opened singles with a strong 6-0, 6-2 win against Robert Sheets at No. 1.

Rand Jackson followed with a 6-0, 6-1 victory against Bob Beradi at No. 2. Eric Roddy then won at No. 3 over Ian McVinney in straight sets 6-3, 6-1.

Additionally, Scott Gallimore topped Karthink Garimella at No. 4 6-2, 6-1. Alex Cooper and Blake Wilde then defeated Zach Villemez and Ilya Pound at No. 5 and No. 6, respectively.
