No. 7 Emory outlast Sewanee, 7-2

ATLANTA (March 22, 2014) – Despite a pair of wins by Eric Roddy, the Sewanee men's tennis team fell just short at No. 7 Emory, 7-2, Saturday.

Early on Roddy and teammate Connor Winkler defeated Jackson Isaacs and Rocco English at No. 2 doubles, 8-6.

Emory then won at No. 1 and No. 3 to take a quick 3-1 lead.

In singles action, the Eagles earned straight set victories at No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, No. 5, and No. 6.

Sewanee's lone singles win came as Roddy defeated Ian Wagner at No. 4 by a score of 2-6, 6-4, 10-6.

The Tigers continue its 12-match road trip with a 10:00 a.m. contest against Middlebury, Sunday.
