Sewanee Sweeps SAA Swimming and Diving Weekly Awards

ATLANTA - The Sewanee swimming and diving teams swept the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Player of the Week Awards, the conference office announced Wednesday. Lee Haber and Meghan Mulhern were selected as Swimmers of the Week, while Noel Whitlock and Jed Henrichsen were selected as Divers of the Week.

Meghan Mulhern
Mulhern had a busy two days. The Tiger standout swam the 1000 Free (11:13.95) and a season-best time in the 500 Free (5:28.75) versus Centre.

She then posted wins the next day in the 200 Free (2:03.98) and the 100 Free (58.27) on the road against Transylvania.

Lee Haber
Swimming two dual meets in two days, Haber won both the 200 Breast (2:13.16) and 200 IM (2:00.26) against Centre. After posting season-best times against the Colonels in those events, he swam a 50 Free split (23.05) leg in the 200 Free Relay.

A day later, at Transylvania, Haber showed his versatility and swam a winning time of 10:06.96 in the 1000 Free. He also posted a time of 1:02.44 in the 100 Breast for a 2nd place finish. Finally, he followed up the 100 Breast swim a few minutes later by swimming a 50.60 split on the winning 400 Free Relay squad.

SAA Divers of the Week

Noel Whitlock
Already qualified for NCAA regionals, Whitlock was great in both the one and three-meter events. First, in the one-meter, Whitlock scored 383.01 points against Centre and then added a 248.85 performance against Transylvania. The two-time SAA Diver of the Week winner added a score of 255.375 on the three-meter board against the Pioneers.

Jed Henrichsen
The two-time SAA Diver of the Week won both diving events Friday night against Centre. The sophomore totaled an 11-dive score of 331.66 against the Colonels. He then added scores of 203.62 and 195.75 on the one and three-meter boards against Transylvania to conclude the weekend.

The Tigers return to the pool this weekend for the Igloo Invitational.
