Men’s Soccer Falters to Bridgewater

BRIDGEWATER, Va. - The Sewanee men's soccer team saw three goals scored by the opposition in the second, as Bridgewater took the match, 3-1, Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Sewanee struck first in the opening half with a Justin Chapman goal off an Alpo Sipilä assist.

-However, that would be the all the scoring Sewanee could muster, as Bridgewater scored three times in the second half (49', 52', 79').

SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Kyle Johnston led the team with three shots, while Justin Chapman recorded the lone goal.

-James Murray (1-1) stopped two shots in 77 minutes for Sewanee.

BRIDGEWATER KEY STATISTICS
-Thomas White led the Eagles with four shots and two goals.

-Ian LaVallee also added a goal for the home team.

-Quentin Boric (2-0) saved four shots in full time for Bridgewater.

UP NEXT
The Tigers will return to Puett Field for their home opener on Tuesday night against rival Covenant. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
