BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Sewanee men's soccer team was unable to net a goal in Friday night's match at Goldfarb Field, as Birmingham-Southern shuts out the Tigers, 2-0.
No team was able to notch the back of the net in the first 66 minutes. However, in the 67th minute, BSC (6-4-1, 2-1-0) got on the board first thanks to a Jackson Lynn goal off a Brother Swagler cross.
The Panthers added an insurance goal in the 89th minute to put the contest away for the Tigers (5-6, 1-2), who only mustered four shots in the final 45 minutes.
Will Merriman (5-6-0) played 82 minutes in goal and saved one shot, as the Tigers defense allowed three BSC shots on goal.
The Tigers will next travel to Jackson, Miss. to take on Millsaps College on Sunday.
