Covenant Slows Sewanee’s Offensive Attack in 1-0 Shutout

LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. - After taking 33 shots and scoring three goals in Birmingham, Ala. this past weekend, the Sewanee men's soccer team was unable to get anything going against Covenant's defense, as the Scots defeat the Tigers, 1-0, Wednesday night at Scotland Yard.

Matt Morefield netted his first goal of the season for Covenant (1-2) in the 70th minute off a corner kick by Josh Brower.

After the goal by the Scots, the Tigers (1-2) only got one shot attempt off in the final 20 minutes, while only taking seven shots the entire match.

Will Merriman (1-2) recorded four saves in the match.

The Tigers remain on the road this weekend, heading up to Methodist University to take on Marymount on Saturday afternoon before wrapping up the weekend with host Methodist on Sunday.
