Sewanee Men’s Soccer Keeps Dream Alive With Conference Semifinal Win Against Rhodes

Jackson, Miss. (November 7, 2015)  -  The Sewanee men's soccer team scored a goal in the 88th minute to beat rival Rhodes College in their conference semifinal game and send the Tigers into the championship on Sunday.  Rhodes had 16 shots on goal to Sewanee's 10, but all it took was one good shot from Ramsey Seagle (with an assist by Chris Haberstroh) to lift the Tigers over the Lynx.

Weather issues postponed today's game at Harper Davis Field that was originally scheduled to be played on Friday.  In spite of continued rainfall, the game was played today on the same field the Sewanee Tigers played Millsaps in football.

Sewanee entered the championship tournament as the 8th seed and advanced to the semifinal with a win over number one seed Oglethorpe.  With the win over Rhodes, the Tigers will play the winner of the second semifinal game between Millsaps and Centre.

"I am proud of the fight the boys showed today and the amount of effort they put forth," said Sewanee Coach Tony Pacella. "It was a true team win."

The SAA Championship game will be played on Sunday, November 8th, at 1 p.m. on the campus of Millsaps College.
