SEWANEE, Tenn. - The Sewanee men's lacrosse team used a 9-2 second half to take down the Lions of Piedmont, 16-5, Wednesday night inside historic Hardee-McGee Field at Harris Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-After Piedmont struck for the first goal of the game at the 8:26 mark in the first quarter, Sewanee scored three straight to take a 3-1 lead after 15 minutes of action.
-The Lions responded with two goals in the first two minutes of the second quarter, including a man-up goal by Josh Cobbina to even the.
-Sewanee's sticks came out strong with four straight goals the rest of the quarter, including two by Thomas Oliver, to lead 7-3 at intermission.
-In the fourth quarter, the Tigers took advantage of a Lions two-minute penalty to score three goals to put the game away.
-Ryan Stubits won 20-of-23 faceoffs and added 10 ground balls.
