Men’s Lacrosse Falters at Guilford

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Sewanee men's lacrosse team dropped a 13-8 decision to Guilford College on Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Quakers netted the first three goals of the contest, two of them were man-up.

-Sewanee evened the score with three straight goals of their own. Mitchell Ryan recorded the equalizer with 9:18 left in the second quarter.

-The home team responded with two more goal in a 4:20 span to lead 5-3 at the intermission.

-Sewanee tied the contest again at six goals each, but the Quakers responded with five straight goals, four in the third quarter, to secure the victory.

SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Thomas Lynde led the Tigers with three goals, while Will Pratt scored five points with two goals and three assists.

-Ryan Stubits won 19-of-23 face offs.

-Bryce Womack (0-2) suffered the loss, but he played full time in the cage with 12 saves.

GUILFORD KEY STATISTICS
-Derek Zacatenco and Brennan Sweeney scored four goals each.

-Jack Rogers (2-0) saved 14 shots in full time.

UP NEXT
Sewanee will open the home schedule with Augustana Wednesday night at historic Hardee-McGee Field at Harris Stadium. Face off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
