BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Sewanee men's lacrosse team earned a road win at Birmingham-Southern, defeating the Panthers, 12-10, Thursday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-After BSC started the contest with a goal, the Tigers went on a 3-0 run from 5:42 on to the end of the period.
-In the second period, the Panthers responded with 3-1 quarter to even the score at four goals apiece at intermission.
-In the second half, both teams came to life on offense. Each team traded goals in the first five minutes of the period to keep the score even at six.
-After a man-down goal by BSC at the 10:22 mark, the home team netted another goal 36 seconds later to give the Panthers the lead, 7-6, for the first time in the game.
-BSC tied the contest nearly a minute later, but it was the visitors who had the 9-8 advantage going into the final 15 minutes thanks to a Jake Vaughn score at the 2:20 mark.
-The Tigers netted two key insurance goals to push the lead to 11-8, and the Panthers, despite scoring two of the final three goals, were unable to even the score.
-Alex DiNardo scooped up four grounders and won 10-of-18 faceoffs.
-Daniel Burnum tallied two assists in the contest.
-Bryce Womack (3-3) saved 15 shots in full time for Sewanee.

-Peyton Taylor led all scorers with four goals, while Davis Thompson added three goals.
-Matt Quill (6-3) saved 14 shots in 60 minutes for BSC.
The Tigers will continue their road swing, as they travel to Pennsylvania for two neutral site contests over spring break. The first matchup will be against Montclair State on Sunday.
