LEXINGTON, Ky. - Sewanee men's lacrosse used a 10-1 run in the second half to defeat Transylvania, 13-3, Saturday afternoon at Pat Deacon Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-After a scoreless first quarter, Transy netted the first two goals of the contest in the second quarter in about an 11-second span.
-With 8:34 left in the period before the break, a slashing penalty for Transy caused Sewanee to be in a man-up situation, and they took advantage. Six seconds later, Will Pratt netted the man-up goal thanks to a Henry Burns assist.
-About a minute and a half later, the Tigers took their first lead of the contest with a Mitchell Ryan goal after causing a turnover.
-Transy started the second half with a goal to even the match at three goals apiece with 10:29 left in the third period.
-From there, the visitors put the offense into high gear, scoring the final 10 goals, including a 7-0 fourth quarter.
-Ryan Stubits totaled five groundballs and collected 10-of-17 faceoffs.
-As a team, the Purple and Gold took 11-of-19 faceoffs, with 5-of-8 in the fourth quarter.
-Bryce Womack (2-2) saved 14 shots in 55 minutes in the cage for Sewanee.
TRANSYLVANIA KEY STATISTICS
-Brad Clements, Josh Mesmer and Trenton Sneed each scored a goal for Transylvania.
-Sneed led the way with six groundballs.
-Michael Webb (0-2) saved seven shots in full time in goal.
The Tigers return to historic Hardee-McGee Field at Harris Stadium with a noon faceoff against Illinois Wesleyan.
