2018 PREVIEW: Men's Lacrosse

SEWANEE, Tenn. - The 2018 edition of the men's lacrosse program enters regular season play Saturday afternoon with a neutral-site matchup with Catholic (D.C.) in Charlottesville, Va. at 1 p.m. ET / 12 p.m. CT.

The 2017 Tigers collected their third straight Southern Athletic Association Championship with an 8-7 win over rival Rhodes. Finishing with a 10-7 record, the program made its fifth consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

Sewanee finished second in the conference in scoring with 10.82 goals percentage. Two key returners for the men's lacrosse program are senior Peter Brown and junior Hayden Hunt. Brown tallied 25 goals and 17 assists for 42 total points, leading the team in all three categories. Hunt collected 23 goals and 12 assists.

The Tigers will be looking for a new goalie for 2018 with the loss of All-SAA First Team Selby Austin. Juniors Bryce Womack and Tal Wharton saw action last season, as well as sophomore Penn Mayhew. The Tigers also brought in Jack Gillenwater to play in goal as a member of 2018 recruiting class.
