Division III Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll - Preseason

NORMAN, Okla. - The Sewanee men's golf team will begin the 2017- 18 campaign with a national ranking, coming in 25th in the Preseason Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll, announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) on Friday.

The Tigers, who finished sixth in last spring's Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Championships, earned 45 points in the poll.

Sewanee finished 19th in the final GolfStat rankings, averaging 75.85 strokes per round in 2016-17.

Along with Sewanee, Rhodes (8), Oglethorpe (11), Berry (17), Centre (RV) and Birmingham-Southern (RV) were in the preseason poll.

Texas Tyler, who finished third in the NCAA Championships in 2016-17, earned the top spot in the preseason poll.

The next Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Polls will be released September 29.

Sewanee will open the 2017-18 season with the SAA Preview at the Graystone Golf Club in Dickson, Tenn. The two-round tournament begins on Sunday, Sept. 10.
