DANVILLE, Ky. - Sewanee men's basketball fell short to the Warriors of Hendrix College on Friday night, 69-67, in the opening round of the 2018 Southern Athletic Association Tournament, hosted on the campus of Centre College.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Both teams shot over 50 percent in the first half as they traded the lead in the first 20 minutes of play, but it was Hendrix taking the 38-36 lead into the locker room.
-The Tigers sprinted out of the locker room in the second half with a 13-4 run in the first six and a half minutes to lead 49-42.
-With 8:12 left in the ball game, the Warriors, trailing by seven, 57-50, went on an 8-2 run to cut the deficit to one point.
-After an Adrian Thomas three-point play to push the lead to four points, 62-58, Hendrix drained a three-pointer to bring the deficit to one point.
-With 3:10 to go, Hendrix found the lead again with a three-point play to take the lead, 64-63.
-The Tigers would get as close as one point from taking the lead back, but were unable to complete the contest.
-Friday was a whirlwind day for the SAA Tournament, as the top-two seeds, Centre and Sewanee, fell in the quarterfinals.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Adrian Thomas led the Tigers with 18 points, nine rebounds and four dimes.
-Cam Caldwell dropped 13 points and corralled five boards.
HENDRIX KEY STATISTICS
-Preston Smith led the Warriors with 17 points, while Eli Fisher scored 16 in 25 bench minutes.
